1999 saw the Clippers bid to run that year's convention come to fruition, and in September we hosted the largest-ever Australian National Convention at the Convention centre.  That year the Clippers took Silver, finishing second to the Banana Blenders who have been the benchmark for Choruses in Australia since winning Gold in 1993.

In 1999 the Quartet competition saw a Southern Cross which take Silver at the May 1999 regional convention and then national success by winning the Gold medal at the national convention in Brisbane.

2000 saw the Clippers leave our makeshift rehearsal base (Lone Parents Club - commonly called the Pink Palace), and move to the prestigious Concert hall of the Old Queensland Museum. This venue has seating capacity for 400 people, a professional sound stage and plenty of room for us to have section
practice

The 2000 regional convention, held at the Kallangur RSL club, saw a repeat of the Nationals, except that this time the Clippers won the Gold medal. "Southern Cross" again won the Gold Medal in the open, and newly formed Quartet "Full House" took the bronze medal.
