About River City Clippers

The Brisbane River City Clippers Barbershop Chorus - the "Clippers" - are a group of men who love to sing four-part unaccompanied harmony known universally as Barbershop. For more information on the Barbershop style please have a look at our Barbershop Harmony page.

The Clippers' Chorus formed in 1991 to compete in the first National Convention of Barbershop Singers held in July 1991. At that time, we competed with just 12 singers. At one time, we numbered over  70, and now our membership is over 30 members, who sing for our own enjoyment, and perform at a variety of functions and events. Individuals may join as Full members (ie active performers) or as Associates.

The primary focus of our chorus is entertainment, but also we continue to strive to improve in our craft. Competitions provide us with the means to measure our advancement, so we work diligently towards these as well.

Meet some of our members, talking about their interests in the Barbershop genre, and about the values that members enjoy participating in this hobby, and in being a part of this club.
