What We’re About

Singing with the Clippers is like joining a social club that happens to make great music. We're sons, uncles, dads, granddads. We play golf and other sports and love camping and fishing in the great outdoors. Put simply, we’re a group of everyday men — tradies, teachers, students, dads, retirees — who get together each week for a good laugh, a great sound, and a break from the grind.

You don’t need to be a singer. Most of us started as beginners. We teach everything, we sing together, and no one is ever put on the spot.

Why Men Join

  • Mateship — A friendly, welcoming group where you instantly feel part of the team.
  • Fun — Rehearsals are relaxed, energetic, and full of laughs.
  • Stress Relief — Singing together is good for your head and your heart.
  • A Great Sound — There’s nothing like ringing a chord with a bunch of blokes

What a First Night Looks Like

Walking into something new can feel daunting — so we make it easy.

  • Someone greets you at the door and introduces you to various members
  • We do a quick assessment to see which singing part to start you at
  • You get paired with a friendly buddy
  • You sing in the group, never alone
  • We teach everything step by step
  • You’ll leave having sung something that actually sounds good

It’s relaxed, fun, and beginner‑friendly. Just show up and enjoy the night.

What We Sing

Contemporary, fun, energetic music — everything from the classic crooners to pop and rock and fresh barbershop arrangements. If it feels good to sing and sounds great together, we’re in!

New Guy FAQ

Do I need to be a good singer?
Nope. Most of our guys started as beginners. Some had experience in church or school choirs, some have sung in bands in pubs and clubs, and some have never sung before!

Will I have to sing alone?
Never. Everything is done as a group. There are always opportunities to sing in quartets and this is an individual preference.

What if I can’t read music?
Doesn’t matter — we teach the basics of how to read music, but we also provide learning tracks that you can listen to for learning songs.

What should I bring?
Just your voice, sense of humour, willingness to have a go, and a bottle of water.

What if I’m terrible?
Everyone feels that way at first. You’ll be surprised how quickly you fit in and we're all very supportive. Even those who have been singing a long time still learn something new every week.
Can I bring a mate?
Yes absolutely!
